Help
Short, plain guides for using K8 HQ with the mail apps you already like.
How signing in works
You sign in to K8 HQ with a passkey. K8 HQ has no account password. Mail apps, though, are built to ask for a password. So for each app you make a token in K8 HQ and paste it where the app asks for a password. A token works like an app password, and it's made just for that one app on that one device. If a phone is lost, you revoke its token and everything else keeps working.
Connect a mail app
- Apple Mail on a Mac
- Mail on an iPhone or iPad
- Outlook (new Outlook for Windows and Mac)
- Thunderbird
- The Gmail app on Android

Need a hand?
Write to support@k8hq.com, or use Help in the K8 HQ web app. Support works by email, weekdays 9 am to 5 pm Arizona time (no daylight saving).
We answer within one business day. Outages are watched by automatic alarms every day, and we fix them as fast as we can.
So we can help quickly, tell us:
- your organization's name or your domain, and the address that's affected;
- which app and device you're using (for example Apple Mail on an iPhone, or the web app in Chrome);
- what happened and when, and whether it's one person or everyone;
- the exact message the app showed (a screenshot is best);
- anything that changed just before, like a new phone or a change at your domain company.
Never send a password for Mail, your recovery kit or a sign-in code. K8 HQ never asks for them.
What support can and can't do
- Support doesn't read your mail. We can see that mail arrived, when and who it was from, but not what it says. We look at a message's content only if an owner of your organization asks us in writing, and we write down each time we do.
- Support can't reset your sign-in; keep a second owner. If you lose every passkey, another owner of your organization can add you back. Your mail apps keep working either way.
- Requests that change who can get into your mail (access, roles, tokens, exports) must come from an owner signed in to K8 HQ, or we write to the owner's address we have on record and wait for a reply. We don't act on an email or a phone call alone.
